I can honestly say that our old ARIES infrastructure was in shambles.  Mark, N9GDR, has for years now has driven much-needed authority, professionalism and technology into our severe weather reporting.  I first met Mark around 1974, when he was a Novice, and I swapped him something for an Ameco AC-1.

   The µBitx is a HF (3-30MHz) all-band SSB and CW transceiver kit.   It is supplied as a completely pre-populated and tested circuit board by the manufacturer (trading as HF Signals).   The purchaser needs to assemble the board into an enclosure and wire up sockets, encoder and potentiometer and provide a power supply in order to get the transceiver working....  READ MORE

   I've gotten some really good deals on vintage electronics here.  The user interface is a bit clunky and confusing, but you can find collectables for a very reasonable bid.  Schulman Auctions uses a St. Louis UPS Store to pack and ship items which are not picked up.  Don't cringe: these guys know how to pack, with lots of large bubble packing....  READ MORE
