W9DYV, founder of Central Electronics, calls his last CQ (June 2015)

From his eastern Tennessee estate in 2015, 94-year-old Wes Schum joins friends and family in ARRL Field Day activities. Wes, W9DYV, was the founder of Central Electronics. Shown here is a very early broadband linear amplifier and a CE transmitter.

We unfortunately lost Wes last year (2016), but the annual W9DYV Boatanchor Event is growing and a great place for vintage radio enthusiasts.  Check this site for the next event.
